Phoenix Grant Money for Indvidual Artists (writers included)

They still have money to give out for this year. It sounds perfect for those going to nationals from Phoenix.
Individual Artist Career Development Grants provide financial support for individual artists in all disciplines. The program is designed to assist practicing, professional and emerging artists with specific professional development and skill building opportunities that advance their work and careers, such as:
* Attendance at workshops/conferences/master classes/seminars that focus on an artistic or business aspect of the artist's career, such as marketing, insurance, taxes, contracts, health hazards or budget management,
* Fees for consultancies in an area of career development
* Study with a mentor to develop skills, or learn a new process or method related to your discipline
* Exposure of the artist's work to a broader public (marketing)
* Preparation of artist portfolios, work samples, marketing materials or websites
* Participation in a performance or exhibition opportunity of significance, including notification of collectors, curators, reviewers, etc.
To be eligible for funding, the applicant must meet these requirements at the time of application:
* Must be a resident of the City of Phoenix
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must have at least one scheduled public presentation (performance,exhibit, reading,demonstration,workshop, etc.) in the City of Phoenix between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
* Only one request per applicant may be funded in a 24 month period.
In addition, the applicant must:
* allow a minimum of four weeks between the submission of the application and the start date of the project
* ensure that the proposed activity concludes no later than June 30, 2009.
The program will not fund applicants:
* who are full-time students
* who are full-time faculty at a college or university
* who are requesting support for an academic degree program
* who are seeking support in consecutive fiscal years
* who are seeking support for events/activities in which they have previously participated
* who are seeking reimbursement of fees already incurred
* who have an outstanding final report for a previous grant
